Hello My name is Rebecca, and I am your resident Animal A holic

Honestly, I originally was not going to do an About me page, but I know I personally like to know who I am talking too, so I am trying to give the same courtesy to you as well. My name is Rebecca and I have been in the veterinary field since I was 16 back in 2005.

I started as a volunteer at the Suisun wildlife center and a horse boarding facility at 16 during the summer, and then when school started I went part time as a kennel girl at a local veterinary clinics during the school weeks. I have worked in grooming and boarding facility, multiple veterinary clinics, and humane societies. The last veterinary clinic I was working at is in the Napa valley and I was there for 4 years.

Animals have been in my blood before I was a twinkle in my parents eye! My mother has been a veterinary technician for over 30 years, she has bred and shown cockers and elkhounds, and she also competed in obedience rally. One of our closest family friends, who I call my 2nd mother is a veterinarian; most of my friends are technicians, trainers, rescuers, and groomers.

As you may have noticed I enjoy doing more than one specific thing at a time.  I can groom, medicate, train, and play with almost anything. I just completed the courses at VASE (Veterinary Allied Staff Education) for my school part of taking the test for my Registered Veterinary Technician license. (The comparison is a RN for humans.)  I am still taking other general classes to broaden my education.  As I attain more continuing education courses I will post a picture of the certificate on this page so you can see at a glance.

I personally have been owned by multiple pets, including dogs, cats, rats, mice, guinea pigs, snakes, birds, and lizards. So not only do I have clinic experience, I also have hands on experience on how these little souls wiggle into our hearts, latch on and never let go.

I cannot wait to meet you and your pets and I hope to hear from you soon!

(It is hard to get pictures of myself, since I am usually behind the camera, but I did scrounge up two! In between the pictures are any certifications / continuing education certifications that I have completed)
